What’s the net situation tonight? I make 14 so won’t show up if only 1 net

I will come if we get one more, if not I’ll opt out

Eric is approved to lower the backboards. You should be able to set up two nets. So, everyone that wants to play should go.

The power has been out at the school. They have canceled all use of the school for the remainder of the day. Sorry. I'm out next week, but will get a sign up started soon. The school gave the okay for Eric to do the backboards as well. So if he can attend, you should be able to set up two courts if desired.

This link is a bit of a tangent, but thought this might be of interest to many of us who are challenged to dive for a ball or help others learn to do so.

Last week we were a little in-between enough for 1 or 2 courts. It looks like we might be around that again this week. Please sign out if you are signed in but are then unable to make it. It might make the difference for us to set up 1 vs 2 nets.

If we have 15+, we'll set up 2 nets. If we have 12 or less, we'll set up 1 net. In-between that, we can discuss, but I'd like to make sure that 1 net has at least 4v4.

Plenty of room Sunday if more decide to join. Thanks

Dan

It's official, the NCAA has ruled that it will no longer be a violation for a double contact hand setting a ball on second contact as long it is one attempt to play the ball and it doesn't cross the net! We've never called it real close, but I propose we comply with the new ruling.

We've also been pretty lax on lift calls, maybe a little too lax, in my opinion. Note that the new ruling doesn't change things for lifts. A Chicago deep dish is still verboten.

Soo cool! Was the ruling also true for men’s vball? Or are we playing on a women’s net from now on?!

Dan

I'm guessing rule changes for the men's game will come after their season, but I'm not positive. Hope, we get two courts going again and possibly a net at both heights....
